Climate finance

Invest + incentivize for a rapid and just transition.

From green bonds to carbon savings accounts, a successful and timely transition to a low-carbon economy is going to require upfront investment at scale in order to bring new technologies and options online and make them accessible and affordable for everyone. Whether it's decarbonizing our transportation sector or our buildings, supporting farmers, families, or small business owners, we are developing innovative plans and proposals, so WA has the right combination of incentives and investments to make sure no one gets left behind.

Natural Climate Solutions

Investing in sustainable farms, fields, forests, and supply chains

Our stakeholder engagement and advocacy work were crucial to establishing the Sustainable Farms & Fields Program, a voluntary, economic incentive program that will provide much-needed financial support to farmers and ensure that WA remains a leader in climate action as well as agricultural production and innovation. Now, we are working to ensure this program is a model for success and to expand financing and investment in natural climate solutions in Washington and beyond.

STRONG Coalition

Elevating community-led solutions

Connecting with community was a challenge in 2020, but we worked hard on a movement that brought together youth advocates from Tacoma, rural leaders from Wahkiakum, farmers from Moses Lake, environmental justice leaders from Yakima, and climate activists from Jefferson County to Spokane. This coalition is ready and eager to increase demand for climate action across the state and to help shape solutions that make all of our communities stronger. And we are committed to supporting and growing this powerful grassroots team.
